Dog Suffering From Skin Disease

Dog Suffering From Skin Disease

Ivermectin Treatment is given by the Shiva organization for Dog Suffering From Skin Diseases. Moreover, he didn’t allow anyone to come near him. Now the treatment has started and the dog will be healthy soon.

Ivermectin Treatment - Ivermectin treatment refers to the use of ivermectin, a medication that kills certain parasites, to treat infections in animals.

Uses in Dogs

  1. Heartworm Prevention and Treatment

    • Ivermectin is commonly used as a monthly preventive for heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis.

    • In higher doses (under veterinary supervision), it can treat existing heartworm infections in certain stages.

  2. Treatment of External and Internal Parasites

    • It can treat intestinal worms, including roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms.

Some formulations help control mites, such as those causing sarcoptic mange.

How it Works

  • Ivermectin works by paralyzing and killing parasites, interfering with their nervous system.

  • It is generally safe in most dog breeds, but some breeds (like Collies, Australian Shepherds, and other herding breeds) have a genetic mutation (MDR1) that makes them sensitive to ivermectin, so special care is needed.

Forms

  • Oral tablets or chewables – often used for heartworm prevention.

  • Injectable solutions – usually for severe infestations or specific parasite treatment.

  • Topical formulations – sometimes used for skin parasites.

Important Considerations

  • Dosage must be strictly controlled – overdosing can be dangerous or fatal.

  • Veterinary supervision is essential, especially for treatment of active infections.

  • Not all parasites respond to ivermectin; some require other medications.
